I believe

it takes courage to start a business – and a bit of crazy to continue

when things get tough it’s not time to back down – it’s time to step up

Ego & Fear give you excuses to keep you where you are – don’t let them win

everything we do is “on purpose” – even our mistakes

we have the potential to play bigger – if only we’d believe in ourselves more

there’s nothing more scary – or as rewarding – than daring to live your truth

women entrepreneurs can gain financial freedom faster – and do it their way

freedom takes guts – drop the “shoulds”

self-trust is your greatest asset – claim it!

– carolyn herfurth

I asked a few of my clients what they believe –
that they may not have believed before…

I believe that my business can fully sustain me.

– Martha Zlatar

I believe that when I drop the story,

act as though “of course I can”

and take action,

I am unfuckingstoppable.

– Brynn Breuner

I believe that my business is on the track of  thriving rather than withering.

I believe gratitude is in order : )

– Laurie Morse

I believe I’m crystal clear about my thought leadership.

– Cari Vollmer

I believe for the first time I can visualize exactly what I am loving

offering to clients that can enhance their lives.

– Judy Helm Wright

I believe that I CAN. I believe that it’s possible

I believe in me – fuckin’ A rite I do!

If you’ve ever had a case of guru-itis like I did at one point, you know the guru coaches who dangle the prospect of building your multiple 6 or 7-figure business.

And they make it sound like it’ll be so easy for you!

Dear Fear,

Why are you such a bully?Fear Monster

(I’d call you an asshole, but my 82-year old dad doesn’t like it when I swear.)

I meet so many bright women who are playing small because of you.

These women have tried to play big. But despite their effort and investment and aspirations, it hasn’t worked the way they’d expected. Or been promised. So they got knocked back.

And then they try again. And again. And maybe again. But it still isn’t working.

They’re barely making ends meet. Sick, tired and depleted. Unwilling to trust themselves.

Because of you, they’re second guessing themselves. They believe they’ll never get to play as big as they’d envisioned. They’ve resigned themselves to a future of struggle and wishing for a miracle.

  • Why do you hide the fact that the next step to getting unstuck, is taking the next step?
  • Why do you distort that miracles appear in the possibilities we see for ourselves?
  • Why don’t you let us know that past experiences don’t control our future… we do?

I don’t expect you to write me back, because you’re too busy digging your venomous claws into Entrepreneurs everywhere.

But I see you. I know you. I’m watching you.

p.s. Personally, I’m thankful you’re in my life. Because more than anything else I’ve ever experienced, you’ve forced me to dig “subterranean deep” to find my Truth. And having Truth on my side has made it easier to take you down the last few years. One decision at a time.

Remember as a kid how joyful and carefree you used to be?

Life was a cinch. You woke up, played, ate, played some more and went to bed. The next day was the start of another new and exciting adventure.

Why can’t your business feel as fun and simple as that?

Why, even though you’re working your ass off and making investments in your growth, do you feel like you’re barely an inch closer to enjoying the results you’d hoped for by now?

Why are you working overtime instead of enjoying quality time?

In Martha Beck’s recent article in O magazine (about how to keep “flakes” on track) she said,

Remember, fun is the new work.

Wouldn’t it be AMAZING if there was a way to do business that’s actually as much fun as you imagined it would be when you started your venture?

Wouldn’t it be WONDERFUL if you found a way to grow your business, your way instead of trying to fit into someone else’s little box?

Wouldn’t it be FANTASTIC if you made money doing what you love?

Well, there is a way.

There are 5 essential keys to infuse fun, flow and profit into your service business (so you can stop working so damn hard!).

  1. Design your business, your way. Do not mimic others thinking it’ll work for you. It won’t.
  2. Develop your voice and point of view so that you’re considered a thought leader by peers and clients. Be the voice, not the echo.
  3. Commit to your primary and most effective marketing strategy. Too many entrepreneurs hide behind email and social media but don’t have a strategy that really, truly works and is a reflection of 1 & 2.
  4. Do whatever it takes to love selling your services. Find an approach that feels true to you and it’ll change your life in ways you can’t even imagine.
  5. Prioritize all of your time, money and mindset around the first 4 pointers. Everything else is extraneous.

Knowing how to do this will help you stop working overtime. Do more of the stuff you like and less of the stuff you don’t. And actually have FUN in your business!

And isn’t the idea to biz happier, not harder?!

If you’re not fully feeling the fun in your business, join me for a webinar next week where I’ll go deeper into each of these five essential keys to infuse fun, flow and profit into your service business (so you can stop working so damn hard!).
